This three part route climbs deep into the Lammermuir Hills of East Lothian with a mix of gentle climbs, rough ascents and descents.

Start the Stobshiel to Longyester route with a long but gentle climb southwards through cultivated land on a hill-path up to the col at 400m. This is followed by a rough ascent up Lammer Laws SW shoulder, to the top at 527m. The walk then joins another hill path, again at the col at 510m and descends northwards to Longyester. Finally, a long but picturesque return along very quiet country roads.
Access
The only feasible access is by car (the nearest bus service is to Haddington, 13km north of the start.) From Haddington, take the A6137 south for 11km, to Gilchriston, turn left and follow small road for 2km, after a sharp left stop at the second entrance.
