Edinburgh's golf courses
Braid Hills with a view of Edinburgh
You may not associate golf with Edinburgh but Scotland’s capital has a good selection of quality courses with amazing views of the city and its surroundings.
Braid Hills
Braid Hills is a gem of a course with commanding views of Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s Seat. The native gorse is a strong feature of a pleasingly contoured course which Golf Monthly featured in its ‘Golfing Gems of Scotland’ - and rightly so. Some of the tee shots at Braid Hills are spectacular.
Bruntsfield
Founded in 1761, the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society is the fourth oldest in the world. This attractive parkland course lies on the north-west outskirts of Edinburgh and has been a Regional Qualifying Venue for the Open Championship. Enjoy a challenging round with stunning views of the Firth of Forth.
Duddingston
Duddingston was originally designed by three times Open Champion Willie Park and the course is on undulating parkland. It is a very good test of golf, with the Braid Burn winding throughout the course and coming into play on a good many of the holes.
Other great courses in Edinburgh include Baberton, Craigmillar Park, Royal Burgess, Mortonhall and Murrayfield.
