Impressionism & Scotland runs from the 19th July to the 12th October 2008. Impressionism & Scotland is the blockbuster exhibition of summer 2008 at the National Gallery Complex. This major international exhibition explores the Scottish taste for Impressionism in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and the impact of this art on two generations of artists in Scotland. The label ?Impressionism? was then applied to artists as diverse as Whistler, Corot, McTaggart and the Glasgow Boys; this exhibition includes sensational paintings, pastels and watercolours by these artists, as well as masterpieces by Monet, Manet, Degas, Sisley, Pissarro, Renoir, Van Gogh, Seurat, Cézanne, Gauguin, Toulouse- Lautrec and the Scottish Colourists.
